Water Safety Week | 24 Nov – 2 Dec 2008 (subject to change)

Water Safety Week is a key element of the 'Play it Safe by the Water' campaign. During the week, organisations throughout Australia hold water safety activities for the public and school groups to raise awareness about water safety issues and develop participants’ water safety skills. Water Safety Week is an annual feature on the calendar of pools, schools, clubs, community groups and other water safety organisations, with its success attributed to the continued support of these organisations.

Walk Against Warming | TBC

Environment Victoria is calling upon Australians to show the Government they support courageous action on climate change by uniting with thousands of others in this group walk against global warming.

Recycling Week | 5–11 November 2008

This awareness campaign aims to let people know they can recycle wherever they are – whether at home, work, school or around town. When you recycle one aluminium drink can, a milk carton or a single newspaper you may not think you're doing much for the environment. However, you need to remember that millions of other people are doing the same as you. Together we can all make a big difference by recycling

Wearing a white ribbon is a personal pledge not to commit, condone or remain silent about violence against women and children.

Coastcare Week | 3–9 December 2008

Coastcare Week is a nationwide Landcare initiative to highlight not only the iconic nature of the great Australian coastline, but also the erosion and damage left behind by many who are literally loving the coast to death. With almost 17 million visitors every year to Australian beaches and the rise in popularity of activities such as whale watching, fishing, snorkelling and boating, the threat to the coastline is real.

International Mountain Day | 11 December 2008

The Mountain Partnership is a voluntary alliance of people dedicated to improving the lives of mountain people and protecting mountain environments around the world. Support them in their cause on this international day of awareness.
